Leicestershire Property prices BOOM this summer
The latest “Rightmove House Price Index” released yesterday says that house prices have boomed in Leicestershire this summer.
It states that UK wide asking prices have risen by 3% over the last twelve months with the Midlands and East of England experiencing a boom with prices more than twice the national average.
Here is a breakdown of the top eight counties enjoying the best prices compared to last year’s figures, as quoted by Rightmove:
- Leicestershire +6.9%
- West Midlands +6.9%
- Worcestershire +7.0%
- Bedfordshire +7.0%
- Nottinghamshire +7.1%
- Norfolk +7.4%
- Derbyshire +7.9%
- Northamptonshire +9.1%
This data is purely focused on the buyers asking prices and not on the eventual selling price or the numbers of completed house sales in each area, and shows an upwards trend in current market activity.
Brian Murphy, Head of Lending for Mortgage Advice Bureau commented on the report:
“For many, the report may make for quite reassuring reading, as although there was a marginal decrease in asking prices last month, this is normal and has been the same for the last seven years, with an average decrease of 1.2% on asking prices in July since 2010.
“In any event, with asking prices on average across the UK still seeing annual growth of 3.1%, the market is still ticking over nicely.”
Clean Carpets improve the Offer Price
With all this competition, obtaining the best offer for your property is vital, and a professional carpet clean, upholstery, curtains and ceramic tile deep clean will restore your internal furnishings to look like new again, making it easy to move straight in to your home and preventing that £2,000 under asking price offer.
